In Situ Characterization of Materials

ZBT offers innovative in-situ test methods for the characterization and qualification of materials from various sections of a fuel cell system. In cooperation with our customers, we are able to test materials of already used as well as new system components for PEM fuel cell systems with our in-house developed methods.

We are able to qualify a wide range of materials in our newly developed test chamber, from solids (plastics) to liquid substances (assembly aids) to powder-like functional additives (additives). In addition, the ZBT has extensive analysis facilities for the qualification of materials in the fuel cell system, including:

  • Hydrogen permeation measurement
  • Thermogravimetric analysis
  • Dynamic Difference Calorimeter
  • Thermal conductivity measurement
  • Corrosion current measurement
  • REM-EDX Analyses
  • Resistance measurement
  • Mechanical investigations
  • Hydrogen embrittlement

Would you like to get a qualified introduction to innovative fuel cell technology or test your materials under realistic conditions? Then feel free to contact us!
